OPPOSED TO NATURE
OPPOSED TO NATURE
Senior Thesis 2022
Book: 6 x 9 in.
Mason Gross Thesis is a representation of the my Undergraduate Exhibition titled “by the way…” . During the academic year, I spent two semesters researching on overconsumption, feeling, and memory, while taking photographs to document it in a diaristic style. The final product consists of a 250 page book in an installation with sculptural aspects. The book is bound with orange zip-ties, and physical pieces of plastic trash have been bound into the pages. It uses over 5+ different kinds of paper and textures, and was printed using my laser jet printer. The installation is meant to represent the physical space of the book, therefore all the pieces are seen in the spreads. The identity and front room of the show are also important to this project, as I was one of the two Art Directors for this exhibit.
